Marice Kulsen

Maurice Kulsen; Maurice Kulsen soon exchanged his training as an illustration designer for the art academy in Breda. His background as a designer remains visible in his work through the way he composes images. He creates images and atmospheres using collage techniques that are created through photoshop. Kulsen uses existing photographs, drawings or paintings. The images are figurative and enter into a relationship with the space, in which all kinds of things take place. The sculptures also have a strong connection with ancient painting, which is a major influence in terms of composition and imagery as a source of inspiration. Through what nature and architecture in the area has to offer, he tells a story that is timeless, or connects the past and present.
