Jan van Dijk

Jan van Dijk: depicts his own world; an imaginary reality. He wants to give the many impressions a place, to make his dreams visible and tangible. It should always be about emotion, both in making and in contemplation, because it is precisely that emotion that brings you close to yourself. Jan van Dijk likes to look for contrasts in his work, but at the same time the right balance must be found, the chaos must be rearranged. Art is also a refuge for him; to escape the gray that surrounds us. Both in the abstract and in his figurative work, it is important to him that a poetic undertone always remains tangible and visible. Various materials are used in his three-dimensional work: ceramics, glass, wood, metal, etc. This can be seen in his works in public space and Land art projects. In addition to his own work in the art profession, Jan van Dijk worked for 26 years at the Academy of Art and Design in Den Bosch and for a number of years at the Academy St. Joost Breda, for the fields of screen printing and painting technique.
