About this lot
Ipé is an extremely durable and hard tropical hardwood species from South America, with a deep greenish-brown to olive-green color that grays when exposed to the elements. It has a density of 1000-1100 kg/m³, which makes it heavy and strong. Ipé is particularly resistant to mold, insects, and weathering, which is why it is often used for outdoor applications such as patios, bridges, and cladding. Due to its density and hardness, machining with carbide tools is recommended.
