About this lot
Lady Kathryn (Ledora) built in 1929 at rock ferry Liverpool. In current ownership for the last 18 years. The sale is due to advancing age and health reasons.Originally with twin scrips petrol engines. Re engined in 1964 with twin marinized perkins P6 units. Fully serviced to date. Including a spare starter motor and various numerous spare parts on board. Recently fitted with a new custom made diesel fuel tank (700 litres stainless steel). Full hot and cold running water with stainless steel tank. VHF, Air blown heating system and dickenson diesel burners. Forward berth + two single bunks, full electric power points and sink with hot and cold running water. Fully equipped galley including full size gas oven, 4 ring burner, under counter fridge. Galvanised anchor and 200ft of galvanised chain are in the chain locker. Lots of spares included in the sale includes refurbished starter motor & water pump. Full out of water survey september 2023 (document is attached), Boat safety valid until 15th Sept 2027 (see attached), new Douglas rubbing strake (47metres) with 1 inch brass edging, New Buttery fly hatches being constructed from African redwood, new chrome rails and glass made to original spec will be fitted prior to sale, the Lady Kathryn featured in the remake of Whiskey Galore as the custoims cutter, Officially requisitioned three weeks after Dunkirk (owned at the time by a naval officer), it is belived to have been used at Dunkirk but due to having petrol engines at the time was not on the Diesel register, served until 1947 when it returned to private ownership. The owners has bills going back to the 1980's, .
Currently on a residential mooring in Ipswich. The current owner purchased the vessel when on the Thames, was moved to Caledonian Canal and now Ipswich. The owner has lovingly maintained the Lady Kathryn and is now reluctantly looking for the next owner to continue the life of this fine vessel.
