About this lot
Basralocus, also known as Angélique, is a sustainable hardwood species from Suriname and French Guiana. The heartwood varies from golden to purplish brown with a red glow, and the sapwood is light grey. With a density of 750-850 kg/m³, it is strong, durable and resistant to pileworm infestation and fungi. Because of these properties, it is widely used in hydraulic engineering (jetties, lock gates) and sometimes in façade cladding and flooring. Due to the high gravel content, processing with carbide tools is recommended.
