About this lot

Remarks:
Signs of wear/damage and wear all around by age/mileage.

Very unique and special, in this capacity hardly to be found classic car! 1 of 5 factory-built original Showcars with birth certificate For the 5 largest car shows in 1954 complete copies were built by the factory, with heating, chrome wire wheels, alternator, starter motor and distributor were registered with numbers. Original European version with original odometer Delivered new in Sweden for the Swedish Carshow in Stockholm to the importer Hans Osterman AG

All owners registered from new via ownership certificates, see list, a license plate registration was done per region and owners were kept on it.

The map shows the route the car has taken in its life in terms of ownership. Beautiful patina and well-documented history make this unique car a true collector's item, All aluminum parts marked with stamped numbers, truly original. The engine runs well and is well maintained.

An iconic British roadster! Equipped with a 2.6-liter four-cylinder engine and a 3-speed manual transmission with overdrive. This Austin-Healey 100 BN-1 Cabriolet is a left-hand drive (LHD) example from the 50s, known for its classic British sports car style and timeless elegance.

The car has remained in Sweden since its first admission until it was imported to the Netherlands by the current owner in 2013. Until 2018, the vehicle had a Swedish license plate, after which it was registered in the Netherlands. The car has been regularly used for classic car events and was brought to Italy in 2016 to follow the Mille Miglia.

A special feature of this vehicle is that it has never been fully restored; Only the engine has been addressed. The current owner has managed to trace one of the first owners, who owned the car in the late fifties. This former owner indicated that he had driven the car in Stockholm during a snowy period and was involved in an accident in which the left rear was damaged. The car has since been repainted once, and the repair on the left rear is still visible. The car has not been repainted since the fifties, which gives it an authentic patina and a rich history.

The body parts of the car are originally stamped with the corresponding numbers of the vehicle, both on the bonnet and on the boot cover. The white stickers with the number 4 were already present at the time of purchase and have been retained, but can be easily removed by the new owner if desired. The car has extensive historical documentation, with most of the previous owners registered.

An absolute "one off" since this Austin Healy is 70 years old and a 100% original! Visit the viewing day for your own assessment.

Frequently asked questions

How do I place a bid?

You can easily participate in the auction through the website. Log in as usual and navigate to the lot of your choice. On the right side of the screen, you will find 'Bid' and 'Auto Bid.' Click on 'How does this work' for more information about automatic bidding.

Click on 'Bid' to see the total amount of your bid, including the buyer's premium and VAT. After accepting the general terms and user conditions by checking the box, click 'Confirm' to place the bid.

What is reserve price?

A reserve price is the (non-visible!) minimum amount that a seller has set for a lot and is the lowest price for which the seller is willing to sell. The highest bidder who meets or exceeds this price wins.

If this price is not met, you can still have a chance to win. The closer your bid is to the reserve price, the greater your chance of winning this lot.

The lot is awarded to the highest bidder whose bid is equal to - or higher than - the reserve price at the end of the auction. If the highest bid has met the reserve price or more, the lot is sold immediately for this price.

What costs are added to my bid?

In addition to your bid, additional costs are incurred in the form of a buyer's premium percentage and VAT. These percentages vary depending on the country. VAT is applied to both your bid and the buyer's premium. Before confirming your bid, you will always receive an overview detailing all relevant amounts associated with your bid, including the final total. This way, you are fully informed about the total amount of your bid.

What is an auto bid versus a manual bid?

An auto bid is a way for you to automatically participate in a bidding process. You enter an amount you are willing to pay for an item and then automatic bids are placed for you up to your maximum bid - but only if necessary. Your maximum bid is hidden from other bidders during the auction. Placed auto bids are indicated by an "A" after the placed bid in the bid history. You need to update a manual bid every time someone outbids you. Keep in mind that an auto bid in the same level as a later manual bid will always lead the auction - because it was placed first.
