The TUF family has been offering laptops with screen sizes of 15.6 and 17.3 inches for two years. In the hierarchy of Asus' gaming gear, the ROG Zephyrus series is at the top, followed by the ROG Strix series for high-end gamers, and then comes the TUF series, which offers high-end performance at a more affordable price. Thus, the version of this 15.6-inch TUF 566IV (officially A15-566IV-AL155T) is offered at a price of about 1500 euros. And make no mistake, the tech specs are impressive for that amount of money. A year ago, these specifications would have belonged to a laptop from the Strix series.
The year 2020 marks AMD's big comeback in gaming laptops, so it's not surprising that there's a chip from the Ryzen 4000 family built into this Asus. Just like the keyboard of the Zephyrus G14, one of AMD's flagships that was proudly displayed at CES 2020. So Intel no longer has full control over gaming machines, and we'll have to get used to that. This is likely to allow for more variety in manufacturers' catalogs, and the price ranges are expected to be expanded.
