About this lot

Remarks:
>> (ENG) "Few cars can match the Alfa 1600 for sheer driving pleasure, and it will amply reward the driver who gives it his undivided attention" (Car & Driver). Unveiled in 1963, the Giulia Sprint GT featured an attractive four-seat body, designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. It was not built at Bertone, rather at the new Alfa Romeo-factory in Arese. Under the sheet-metal of the new coupé were a five-speed manual gearbox, an independent front suspension, a rigid coil-sprung rear axle (except on the very first ones) and four-wheel discs (as introduced on the 105-series Giulia TI saloon). The Sprint GT could deliver 106 bhp (compared to 92 for the TI) thanks to twin-Weber carburetors, with power to reach a top speed of 180 km/h. Modified intake ducts characterized the more powerful engine of the GTV Sprint (with V for Veloce), introduced in 1965 and boasting 109 bhp. Designed for driving pleasure, the Sprint-range was a huge success for Alfa Romeo, with a production lasting fourteen years, until 1977. _ _ _ We present you a 1966 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT, powered by the 1.6-liter 4-cylinder twin-cam. This classic only had 2 owners since new; purchased in Paris on the 15th of February 1966. The original invoice is still with the car. Four years later it was purchased by the second owner, who also kept it in Paris up until now (!) for 50 years (and we have purchased from her). Finished in the original gray color with classic yellow headlights, this vintage sportscoupé presents very well, with a body showing signs of age, giving it a nice patina. The interior is magnificent, in both beauty and condition, and finished with burgundy leather. Delivery will include the vintage user manual, original service book, invoice & delivery ticket, etc. Mechanically a "Starts & Drives" oldtimer, that could use some love to get back to full splendor. An inspirational time capsule, you are welcome to have inspect yourself, via a reserved viewing. _ _ _ _ _ So, this lot shows moderate to normal signs of use (or during the viewing 'Viewing day' you can possibly form an important opinion of your own) and is further equipped with; the vintage Manuals & the original Service Booklet, plus the original purchase invoice & delivery note. _ _ _ You have to make a reservation for that Viewing Day (because sometimes lots are moved) and that is initially via e-mail to info@ HaspengouwClassics.eu (If the official moment really doesn't fit, we may find another one.) _ _ _ The Pick-up is standard in Hasselt, and in order to run smoothly it is also mandatory to request our e-mail address (info@ HaspengouwClassics.eu in time). Remember to come and pick up / charge well prepared! Especially when it comes to old-timers, project cars, cars that have been standing still for a while or exceptional vehicles. We may be able to arrange transport on request. All dates are subject to change.
