A classic female Hemba ancestor figure with hands resting about the umbilicus eyes half-open. These figures are imbued with the nobility of the ancestors augmenting the family lineage. These figures would have been shown during important ceremonies to enforce the family's position. As a spirit container the figure would facilitate the connection between the world of the dead and the living. It has beautiful scarification on the breast and abdomen.
